Mirrorstep privacy policy
Effective date: 28 October 2026
Mirrorstep is an offline puzzle game. This policy explains what happens to your information when you play it. The short version: the game collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
What the game collects
Nothing. The game has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. It does not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos or any other personal information, and it does not connect to the internet.
What the game stores on your device
To remember where you are, the game saves a small file on your device with:
- which levels you have solved, and the moves you used to solve them (for the replay feature)
- the level you are playing and your moves so far, so you can continue later
- whether you have seen the tutorial
- your settings, such as whether vibration is on and whether the game is light, dark or matches your phone
This information stays on your device. I never receive it and cannot see it. You can clear your progress at any time with Reset progress in the game's settings. To delete everything, clear the app's data in your device settings or uninstall the game.
Device backups
If backup is turned on in your Android settings, Android may include the game's saved progress in your device backup, so it can be restored on a new phone. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account and its settings, not by me, and I cannot access it.
Permissions
The game uses your device's vibration for small taps of feedback when you move and when you solve a level. You can turn this off in the game's settings. It does not use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or files.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, I will update this policy and its effective date before the change is released.
